Before and during installation.
Acclimatise
Store the packs unopened and flat in the room for 48 hours, at 18 °C or more and 40 to 70 % relative humidity.
Check the subfloor
Firm, dry, clean and level. Level out any unevenness over 2 mm per metre first.
Vapour barrier and underlay
On mineral subfloors, lay a 0.2 mm PE film as a vapour barrier, then a suitable acoustic underlay.
Leave an expansion gap
Leave 8 to 10 mm to walls, door frames and fixed elements. The skirting covers the gap.
Lay the floor
Join the planks with the click system and stagger the end joints of neighbouring rows by at least 40 cm. Herringbone is laid to the pattern in its guide.
Underfloor heating.
Every König collection is suitable for hot-water underfloor heating. The floor surface must not exceed 27 °C, and the screed must be ready for covering, confirmed by a heating protocol, before installation.
Care.

Sweep, or vacuum with a hard-floor head.

Felt pads under furniture, doormats at entrances.
Common questions.
Is it König or Konig?
Both mean the same brand. In German it is written König, with an umlaut. Where keyboards have no ö, it becomes Konig or Koenig. The floors, the warranty and the decor numbers are the same.
Can König go in a kitchen?
Yes, in normal use, as long as spills are wiped up promptly. Laminate is not intended for bathrooms, saunas or other wet rooms.
Can König go over underfloor heating?
Yes, over hot-water underfloor heating up to a surface temperature of 27 °C.
What does the warranty cover?
25 years in residential use, when the floor is installed and cared for as instructed. We will send the full warranty terms on request.
How do I read a decor number?
Two letters for the collection, four digits for the decor. EP 4127 is decor 4127 in Essence Pro. The same decor in Prestige is PR 4127.
